About Cubs

Cubs meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Scout Hut. Cubs take part in lots of activities both indoor and outdoor, including camping, hiking, fire-lighting and more. It is supported by a team of dedicated volunteers who are all DBS checked and compliant with the Scout Movement training.

If your child would like to try Cubs, they can come along for free for 4 trial weeks, just click the "Join Today" button below

Uniform

Cub uniform includes a green Cub jumper (on which all the badges are sewn) and a scarf in White Stewart tartan which represents that they are part of 1st Crownhill.

All official Scout uniform can be purchased at the local Scout Shop. For details on opening times, click here to visit the shop website.

They will also need smart trousers, which can be either official Cub activity trousers or smart school trousers, and smart black shoes or trainers. The shoes we recommend are their school shoes, and we will notify parents in advance if the Cubs will need wellies or stronger trainers for a particular night.

Badges

Cubs will earn badges as part of their activities at the Scout hut, but they can also earn badges for completing badge requirements through school activities, clubs or at home. Your Cub leader can tell you what requirements badges have and what evidence they will need to award the badge.

The full list of badges that Cubs can earn can be found on the Scout Association website.
